JRJ Foods Private Limited is a confectionary giant, a company formed under The Companies Act 1956, headquartered in Gandhinagar district of Gujarat. We manufacture confectionery products like candies, toffees and toffee bars under the brand name of MICHI’S which has become synonymous with the company’s identity. We have two operating units:
Unit 1 This unit is working as a Contract Manufacturing Unit (CMU) of PARLE Products Pvt. Ltd. which is one of India’s largest manufacturers of biscuits and confectionery and owns internationally renowned PARLE-G brand.
Unit 2 This unit is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of MICHI’S brand products.
We began our operations in the year 2005 and capitalizing on our years of hands-of experience of operating in the industry, we have grown increasingly to please our customers with high quality, great taste and delicious products.
After in-depth market research and getting detailed insight about consumers’ preferences, we have successfully developed more than 15 flavors, each of which serves to please a distinct choice of taste regardless of age.
Driven to deliver high quality consistently, MICHI’S has become one of the leading brands in confectionery segment today.
At present, JRJ boasts of a distribution channel spread through western parts of India in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. We have also developed a potential customer base for our products in international market and export our products to SAARC countries and African Region. Riding on the wave of increasing demand, popularity graph of MICHI’S is continuously soaring high.
Handling of day-to-day management affairs of the Company is vested with the management committee which supervises overall operations and exercises controlling authority.
Jagdish Thakkar – Chairman & Managing Director
Born just after two years of independence, in 1949, Jagdish Thakkar was raised in rural area. After receiving higher education, he set out to forge his own path of success. In 1965 he kick-started his journey by joining Smith Food Products, a reputed confectionery manufacturing unit based at Mumbai as a sales executive. After edging his craft in 1977 he became associated with Simco Food Products a leading player dealing in food & beverages headquartered in Ahmedabad – as a partner. He retired from Simco Food Products in 2004 to become a full-time entrepreneur.
Under his guidance MICHI’S prospered to touch the skies and fueled by his consistent efforts has become a confectionery giant.
Apart from being an ambitious entrepreneur, he has involved himself in a variety of other activities. He is a lifetime member of Ahmedabad Management Association and has conducted many seminars and workshops addressing the issues related to marketing and distribution. He has also done in-depth research and case studies on distribution management of a variety of FMCG products. He has also been awarded for his invaluable contribution in the field of marketing of confectionery / FMCG products. He has also encouraged and led many corporate social responsibility initiatives.
In a vibrant career spanning over four decades he has challenged many conservative practices with innovative ideas. Bursting with energy, he is still as much passionate about enhancing his sales, marketing and distribution skills as day one. Impelled by such passion, he has been researching relentlessly in the form of conceptual articles, case studies, surveys, and large sample empirical analyses, focusing on improving the effectiveness of sales and distribution services.
Ritesh Thakkar – Joint Managing Director
Born in the year 1975, Ritesh Thakkar obtained his Post Graduate Degree in Sales & Marketing in 1990 from the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. After excelling his academic know-how, he took a plunge to join his father, visionary industrialist Jagdish Thakkar, in the business in the year 2005 as a Joint Managing Director. His rich experience spans all areas of operations such as Manufacturing, R&D, Accounts & finance, Human resource, Sales support and Sales & marketing. Empowered by sound academic qualifications & practical experience, he contributes remarkably in the management and administration of the company.
Known to possess a pro-active and aggressive approach, Ritesh Thakkar’s gutsy nature and conviction have led to JRJ’s success in the Indian and exports markets. His drive to excel is deeply rooted in his commitment to stakeholders. As a Joint Managing Director of JRJ, he has taken calculated risks on time and money and has every time borne generous reward for the company. Thus he has succeeded in taking MICHI’S to the next level leveraging his knowledge of in-trend business practices.
